Niche marketing: a way of finding a special product that appeals to only one group, and selling that product very profitably only to that group, ignored by others.

 

Opt-in vehicles: usually internet-based marketing vehicles that allow all recipients to first agree to receive the vehicle. These vehicles generally generate better response because the recipients have indicated an interest from the outset.

 

Pay-per-click: a type of search engine marketing where advertisers pay a set amount every time their ad is clicked by a prospect.

 

Personalisation: the means of adding personal information such as the individual's name to a mailing piece.

 

Positioning: a marketing strategy that attempts to positively influence the perception of a company, product or service relative to its competitors & competitive products & services.

 

Promotion: all forms of communication other than advertising that call attention to products and services, typically by adding extra value to the purchase.
